Missed broadcast? Labour injury lawyers on News Hour!

Last night, the TV programme Nieuwsuur devoted part of its broadcast to the unsafe working conditions in slaughterhouses.

The Labour Inspectorate found very many violations during a recent round of inspections in the meat sector. "The meat sector is currently among the top 10 sectors where things are not in order and where too many accidents happen," said the Labour Inspectorate's director of working conditions. Nieuwsuur spoke to several employees about the situation on the shop floor.

Part of the broadcast is a case we handled for one of our clients. A Greek temporary worker, employed in the Netherlands for just a few weeks, lost his right eye while working in an abattoir. The cause: incorrect work instructions and insufficient supervision of the work.
